Studies on Some Physical and Chemical Characters on Diversity of Some Local Jamun (Syzygium cumini Skeels) Genotypes

The experiment was conducted by selecting 15 different jamun genotypes from Sriniketan and adjoining villages (viz. Andrews Pally, Rathindra Ballavpur, Bahadurpur Pashchim, Sonajhuri) fruits were brought to record their physical as well bio-chemical character at laboratory of Department Horticulture & post-harvest technology. Present study reveals a wide significant variation in characters has been observed among genotypes. Among all G-14 superior on the basis fruit weight (3.16g), diameter (17.46mm), greater pulp content (2.34g) average total sugar (16.26%) content. Owing moderate size (21.89mm length 15.64mm diameter) G-4 genotype is also higher TSS (25.90⁰B), (13.65%) reducing (8.23%). So, overall findings present conclude that are over local
